Business Lunch with the theme: Major economic issues of the French Presidency of the European Council.

Presentation by Mrs Patricia Pouliquen from the French Embassy

During our last business lunch, we have had the pleasure to listen to Mrs Patricia Pouliquen from the French Embassy economic services.

She first expressed her concern towards the Ukraine war and sent a supportive and sympathetic message to all who are fighting to defend their territory and their freedom.

After a first reminder of the role and agenda of the French presidency (a rotating presidency), of the different Councils, not to be confused with the role of Charles Michel (from Belgium) we moved to the main objectives of this French mandate and in the long run those of the EU.

The French president based his action plan on three main ideas: Recovery – Strength - Sense of Belonging and four economic pillars: growth - sustainability – ethical and responsible finances – digitalization and technologies.
